Powerful, stately, and substantial, the Rottweiler has the potential to be a loveable, calm, and affectionate dog in the right hands. Historically, they were cattle herders. Today, they are often used as police and military dogs as they are highly trainable and eager to work. They get a bad rap when not socialized or trained properly, and can become aggressive. Under the right conditions, they can be gentle and noble giants, ready to do anything for their families.
