One of the largest Terriers, the Kerry Blue Terrier is named for Kerry County, Ireland. Kerry Blue Terriers are versatile and athletic dogs, bred to be all-around farm companions. They have short backs, long legs, strong bones, and good muscles that see them excel at running, retrieving, swimming, herding, and more. Their coats are soft, wavy, and dense in a distinctive blue-gray color. They are born all black, with their distinctive blue color appearing somewhere before two years of age.
