The Kai Ken dog originated in the mountains of Japan and is one of six national breeds. They are sturdy, athletic, and intelligent dogs, rare even in their native country. Not as independent as other Spitz breeds but eager to please, they form strong bonds with their families. Like most Spitz breeds, they have wedge-shaped heads, curled tails, and pricked ears. The Kai Ken enjoys swimming, climbing, running, and more.
