Chesapeake Bay Retrievers are large, powerful dogs with a dense, oily-to-the-touch waterproof coat that’s smooth over the face and wavy over the shoulders. They have powerful limbs and are slightly longer in the leg than Labrador Retrievers. Chesapeake Bay Retriever dogs are slightly longer than tall. Their amber eyes glow with friendliness and love giving them a striking, tonal appearance in addition to their brownish hue. They have webbed feet and are excellent swimmers.
