Like an athlete, the Bloodhound is steadfast, built for endurance over speed. They have thin, loose skin that falls in distinctive wrinkles around the head and throat. Long ears stir up scents on the trail, and the wrinkles are said to trap the odors they are chasing around the face, although neither of these traits has been scientifically proven.
They have a short, dense coat to protect them from brambles and a docile, noble temperament.
